PowerPoint presentation mode with notes and time

Have you ever wished to look at a second screen with additional information during your presentation? Like keywords to present and elaborate on your slides or a visible clock that shows you how long you have been presenting already?

PowerPoint offers a simple function for this, in order to see on your own screen, your slides the notes, and also the overview of the next slides. In addition, the previous presentation duration and the current time are visible, so you do not have to look at the clock constantly. 

How to activate the PowerPoint presentation mode

  1. Connect the beamer to your laptop, right-click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution".
  2. Now select "Extend this display" under "Multiple displays" and click "Apply". Also, make sure that your laptop is the main screen. If it is not, select the laptop monitor at the top and check "Use this screen as the main screen".
  3. Now switch to your presentation and click on the "Slide Show" tab. On the far right, check the "Presenter view" box. Above you now only have to select the beamer as the presentation screen at "Display on". When you start the slide show, you will see a split screen on your laptop as above and your audience will see the familiar presentation view.
